This Valencian stately home turned hotel has the likes of Gatsby, Gone With the Wind and Pride & Prejudice written all over it. Built in the 19th century, it exudes glamour, luxury, style and mystery, and is nestled in one of the most beautiful streets in the city.

The on-site Ampar Restaurant serves up Valencian cuisine at its finest. With a focus on various rice-based dishes, it seeks to utilise local ingredients and recipes, beautifully flavoured, displayed and imagined by chef Carlos Julian. Our absolute favourite dish has to be the yellowfin tuna fillet with tomatoes and black olives.

Why we recommend Hospes Palau De La Mar

The listed Hospes Palau De La Mar offers the height of opulence – think 5-star cuisine, vast rooms and a breathtaking lobby – and all in the heart of one of Spain’s most enchanting cities. It boasts an oasis within its Bodyna Spa too, complete with a treatment space and a wellness area, and is just a short stroll from the mesmerising Turia Gardens, a 270-acre haven bursting with greenery and fountains. Best of all, if you’re planning to bring your favourite pooch on holidays, pets are more than welcome at this wonderful establishment.
