This fabulous retreat sits high in Bali’s central foothills, overlooking the lush Ayung River valley. It’s just 15 minutes from the charming town of Ubud, yet couldn’t feel more secluded – with a stunning jungle-view infinity pool and a clutch of luxurious rooms and suites.
With its own private balcony overlooking the Ayung River valley, could there be a more spectacular spot for sundowners? We don’t think so: this room might be the ‘simplest’ in the hotel, but it’s still an absolute stunner. Add a kingsize bed and deluxe bathroom with rain shower, and you have one very special jungle retreat.
Perched on stilts above the treetops, Valley Villas feature kingsize beds, double bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes – not that you’ll be spending much time indoors. Instead, your sun-kissed terrace is calling – with its sumptuous daybed and epic jungle views.
With its large private swimming pool and lush landscaped gardens, this villa combines luxurious amenities with Bali’s natural beauty. You can gaze out at the tropical blooms from the comfort of your kingsize bed – or soak in the alfresco bathtub, surrounded by lotus ponds. Bliss.
Terrace Tree Villa
Head out onto the terrace of this one-bedroom villa, and you’ll be greeted with uninterrupted jungle views – the perfect spot for sunbathing or an alfresco snooze. Inside, a kingsize four-poster, double bathroom, and stylish lounge area await.
Two-Bedroom Pool Villa
Book this two-bedroom beauty, and you can swim above the treetops in your own personal pool. In the morning, you’ll find us sipping coffee on the jungle-view terrace – or wallowing in the deep-soak bathtub. At night, the garden is alive with the hoots and howls of the forest.

Teetering on the edge of the valley, the open-air Plantation Restaurant combines spectacular natural surroundings with a menu that wouldn’t be out of place in a fine London restaurant (but without the eye-watering price tags). For the most exquisite supper, our experts recommend the Royal Rijstafel tasting menu – featuring tender beef rendang, grilled tuna, and spicy vegetable fritters. It’s all fresh, locally-sourced, and utterly delicious. Meanwhile, Cabana Lounge serves fruity cocktails and light bites beside the pool, and Bale Bengong offers unforgettable private dining hidden deep in the jungle.
Ask our Flight Centre Concierge team about booking your restaurants in advance.

Why we recommend Alila Ubud
Alila Ubud is home to one of the world’s most iconic swimming pools – and yes, it’s just as spectacular in the flesh. Its infinity edge seems to hover over the Balinese jungle, its sapphire waters defying gravity while the treetops sway gently below – echoing with monkeys’ playful hoots. It is a magnificent spot for sun-kissed dips – and is guaranteed to set your Insta alight. It takes a lot to leave our experts speechless, but Alila Ubud’s pool did just that. Not that it’s the only gem in this incredible resort. You can indulge in a traditional Balinese massage at Spa Alila, sip cocktails overlooking the rice terraces, or simply relax in your own private plunge pool. There’s just a handful of rooms and villas: all boasting private terraces, with jaw-dropping valley views. The swimming pool might hog the limelight, but we love every inch of this wild and wonderful retreat.
