Your Example Itinerary
Fly from the UK to Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires is a heady hodgepodge of colonial architecture, funky neighbourhoods and thriving nightlife – not to mention delicious Argentinean cuisine. During your time here, we’ve included a city tour so you can fully get your bearings, taking in the famous Colon Opera House, Italian district La Boca, and the elegant Recoleta Cemetery – to name just a few. And, if that’s not enough to really get under the skin of the place, day two’s evening entertainment will do the trick: a live tango show with dinner! You’ll enjoy a traditional charcoal grill, local wine and a lively performance that includes folk music and dancing aplenty.
Tango de Mayo Hotel (or similar)
Nicknamed ‘The End of the World’, this city on Argentina’s southern tip is the launchpad for your Antarctic adventure. Fly here from Buenos Aires on day three, and set sail onboard the Ocean Endeavour the following day. If you have time before your departure, we highly recommend soaking up the region’s history at Museo Maritimo, taking a stroll down Avenida San Martin for any last-minute shopping, or perhaps booking a half-day tour of the mighty Tierra del Fuego National Park. And, if all else fails, there’s always time to squeeze in some delicious Argentine fare: steak and red wine here we come!
Las Hayas (or similar)
Settle into your cabin on the afternoon of day four, and prepare to embark on an unforgettable voyage. You’ll sail thorough Drake Passage first – known for either being exceptionally tumultuous or blissfully calm. If conditions are right, you’ll be able to search for dolphins, orcas and even albatross from the deck, and learn all about Antarctica’s history, geology and biology from the expert crew. After completing the crossing, four incredible days await. Stare wide-eyed at glaciers, mountains and calving chunks of ice as you explore frozen bays and channels on Zodiac excursions and by foot. And, while the landscapes will no doubt take your breath away, Antarctica is all about the wildlife. Visit penguin rookeries, spot humpback and minke whales and look out for leopard seals, all while listening to glaciers crack through the immense silence.
Disembark the Ocean Endeavour at Ushuaia and head to the airport for your onward flight to Buenos Aires. Make the most of your last night in Argentina before flying back to the UK on day 13.
Tango de Mayo Hotel (or similar)
Depart Buenos Aires and return to the UK
