When to Go to Western Australia

As such a large state, Western Australia’s climate is incredibly diverse, ranging from Mediterranean in the south to tropical in the north. Luckily for you, this means there’s always somewhere sunny to explore in the state no matter what time of year you visit. Temperatures do drop in the winter months of June to August, particularly in the lower end of the state with temperatures in Perth falling to 12°C. These cooler conditions make for a great opportunity to visit the Margaret River for country walks and wine tasting. March to July is also the best time to visit Western Australia to swim with whale sharks, while the summer months of December to February are best spent cooling off at the beaches near Perth and Fremantle.
