Durban experiences tropical weather throughout the year, which can lead to some debate as to the best time to visit. As a general guide, summer (mid-October to mid-February) is hot, humid and not for the faint-hearted, while autumn is known for thunderstorms. Winter (May to September) and spring (August to mid-October) are ideal for getting out and about exploring.
