The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

Tailor-made San Francisco Holidays

Shining brightly on the USA’s western coast, San Francisco possesses all of the ingredients of a perfect holiday: beauty, culture, history and plenty of surrounds worth exploring. In fact, with the scenic stretch of Highway 1 to the south, Napa Valley to the north and Yosemite National Park to the west, San Francisco is one of our favourite places to begin a holiday in the USA. Position aside, San Francisco is also worth travelling for a city break on its own. From the hippie sixties to the hipster-day present, the city has a reputation for always being at the forefront of culture and innovation. It's hard to believe, but San Francisco was only transferred from Mexico to the USA in 1848. Coincidentally, the place boomed just after the treaty was signed – the California Gold Rush had begun. Fast-forward to today and San Francisco is still experiencing a gold rush of sorts, this time in the form of technology by way of Silicon Valley. It's also one of the most liberal cities in the US, known for its welcoming, anything-goes atmosphere. So whether as the starting point to a bigger itinerary, or a city break by itself, you're going to love San Francisco.
