Alaska Holidays

Bears in Alaska

Alaska is huge. In fact, it’s the biggest state in the USA. Yet, despite its size, Alaska is one of America’s least-populated states. Its remoteness means untouched natural wonders await – from the marvels of the Northern Lights to migrating whales and salmon-chomping bears. And it’s this that makes it the destination for the perfect outdoor adventure, secluded getaway or wildlife-spotting holiday. Whatever you travel to Alaska for, one thing’s for sure: you’ll definitely want to bring a good camera and a back-up battery and SD card (or two).

When to Go to Alaska

Generally the most popular time to visit is during the summer, from mid-May to mid-September, when you can expect brighter days and warmer temperatures. This is also the best time for whale watching. However, if you’re coming to Alaska in search of the Aurora Borealis then the best time to visit is during the clearer nights of winter – late September to late April.
