T help simplify things, the weather in Sri Lanka can be split into three seasons: the Southwest Monsoon, the Inter-Monsoonal Period and the Northeast Monsoon. During the Southwest Monsoon from April to September, the weather is best in the north east in places like Psikuda and Trincomalee. The Intern-Monsoonal Period in October brings about warm and sunny weather with occasional showers. The Northeast Monsoon falls from November to March brings heavy rain to the north of Sri Lanka, while places like the central hills, beaches and Kandy enjoying ideal conditions.
