Frequently asked questions

What to take on holiday to Cork?

When packing for a trip to Cork, don't forget the essentials like your visa, passport, chargers, camera, some euros and the correct power adaptor. Clothing wise, check out the seasonality guides and pack to suit the conditions - aka plenty of  layers for winter and lighter options for summer. Other necessities include a raincoat, walking shoes, hat and sunglasses. It’s probably worth packing an extra pair of stretchy pants - we’re gonna go out on a limb and say you’ll be eating a little more than normal in this delicious city.

Where to go on holiday in Cork?

Cork is an incredibly walkable city, so you shouldn’t have any issues navigating all the sites. With this in mind, travellers generally opt to stay in Cork City Centre, the Victorian Quarter, Tivoli and Blarney.

When is the best time to visit Cork?

While Cork isn’t winning any prizes for year-round sunshine, it does give travellers the chance to experience all four seasons. Summer offers the hottest temps and long, sunny days between June and August, while winter will bring the cold and rain between December and February. If you’re not a fan of the cold and are keen to make the most of your days in Dublin, we recommend visiting between May and October.

What is there to do in Cork?

When you’re not exploring the lush Irish countryside and sampling a pint of Guinness, spend your time in Cork getting lost in the history at Cork City Gaol, planting a kiss on the Blarney Stone, road tripping through the rugged cliffs and beaches of the Ring of Kerry and grabbing some treats from the iconic English market.
