Your Example Itinerary
UK to Perth
Arrive in Perth, the capital and largest city in Western Australia. On your first day, familiarise yourself with the city, exploring the local parks, soft-sand beaches and buzzy metropolis of bars, restaurants and attractions. While here, enjoy your tour of Swan Valley, a diverse region of award-winning wineries, breweries, confectionary outlets and more. You’ll get to do tastings, all while learning about the region’s history. On day four, you’ll make your way to Fremantle for a fascinating Convicts and Colonials tour of the town hall and UNSECO-listed prison, hearing stories about the local characters and history.

Mantra On Murray
Fly to Adelaide and explore this enchanting city and its stylish architecture. We also love its excellent food and fine wines; you could explore the markets and sample all manner of snacks, from cheese to cakes, wine and coffee. There are plenty of places to enjoy the year-round sunshine too, including acres of green parkland and beautiful, expansive sandy beaches. Hop on a train to Glenelg, the seaside suburb where you can wander the galleries and museums, or even try a spot of dolphin watching. On your final day, pick up your hire car, ready to hit the Barossa Valley.
4.5* Majestic Roof Garden Hotel
Drive from Adelaide to the iconic Barossa Valley wine region, with the renowned wineries here producing more than half of all Australian wine. Relax among the vineyards and take in the glorious valley views, and perhaps book yourself onto a wine tasting to take in the crisp Semillons and full-bodied Shiraz. Visit the Whispering Wall, a curved 36m-high wall that’s part of the Barossa Reservoir; you can quite literally whisper into it, and your words will be carried to someone else 140m away.
4* Barossa Shiraz Estate
Head to Adelaide Hills, a picturesque countryside escape full of scenic hiking trails, wildlife encounters and home to some of South Australia’s best produce. If you’re not all wined out, it’s also home to a number of wineries, predominantly renowned for their Chardonnay. Don’t miss the beautiful Mount Lofty Botanic Garden which spans 270 acres and is full of blooming native flora, a sight to behold whatever the season.
5* Mount Lofty House MGallery by Sofitel
Drive further south to Robe, a tranquil fishing port perched along the pretty Limestone Coast. Spend your time wandering the quaint historical buildings, and take in the lakes, fishing fleets and what seems like endless deep blue ocean. While here, you should visit Little Dip Conservation Park where you can camp, hike, kayak and go wildlife watching. Don’t forget to try the local lobster, deliciously fresh as can be.
4* Robe House B&B
Next, you’ll continue down to Warrnambool, on Victoria’s Shipwreck Coast. If you’re visiting between July and October, be sure to treat yourself to whale watching, either by boat, or the viewing platform at Logan’s Beach. Stroll the pretty promenade and wander up to the lighthouse, or in and out of the heritage museums and boutiques along the way. Learn about the city’s seafaring history at the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village and take in the views from Thunder Point Coastal Reserve.
4* Lady Bay Resort
As you make your way along the coast, your next port of call is Apollo Bay, halfway along the iconic Great Ocean Road. The area also serves as a gateway to Cape Otway; explore its dreamy soft golden sands, sparkling seas and staggering Otway ranges, as well as nearby forests and cascading waterfalls. And of course, don’t miss the magnificent 12 Apostles while en route to Apollo Bay.
4.5* Captains at the Bay
In the morning, set off towards Melbourne, but not before making a pitstop in Torquay. Here, you’ll be treated to a long stretch of sandy beach and an exhilarating two-hour surf lesson. Afterwards, continue your journey, dropping off your car in Melbourne. Here, the options are endless; you could visit the Royal Botanic Gardens, stroll along the enchanting riverfront, or visit the beautiful beaches of St Kilda. The following day, don your sports cap as you’ll be taking a tour of Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse, the Commonwealth Games Village, the Albert Park Formula 1 track and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with lunch included.
