Travel to Nagano, host city of the 1998 Winter Olympics and gateway to the Japanese Alps. Visit Jigokudani Monkey Park, where Japanese snow monkeys bathe in natural hot springs.

Take a day-trip to Matsumoto, home to one of Japan's most treasured castles. Return to Nagano and explore historic Zenkoji Temple.
