Public Transport

Auckland Airport is well serviced by public transport operators. A regular 10-minute Airbus Express service connects travellers to Auckland's city centre and to the city's waterfront Downtown Ferry Terminal. Look for the bright blue bus.

Car Hire

You'll find car hire desks next to the arrivals area on the ground floor of the international terminal, and on the ground floor of the multi-level car park at the domestic terminal. Companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty. Talk to your consultant about booking car hire in advance.

Check-in

The check-in counters are located on the ground floor in both the domestic and international terminals.

Money Exchange

Auckland Airport has 10 Travelex stores spread across the 2 terminals, offering money exchange, Cash Passports, phone cards and electronic money transfer. Cash machines are also located throughout the terminals.

Business Services

Passengers can scan, copy, or fax printed documents at the Smarte Carte counter opposite check-in counter 67, located on the ground floor of the international departures area.

Internet Access

Wi-fi hotspots and internet kiosks are available throughout the airport. Connection charges apply.

Family Facilities

Nursery rooms, with cots and change tables, are available for all travellers to use free of charge. Change tables can also be found in the female toilets throughout the international and domestic terminals. There are alao a number of things to enjoy and entertain the children with at Auckland Airport. At the internationl terminal you'll find a lookout lounge for budding plane spotters on level 2, a games arcade and rides (level 2 and ground floor arrivals area) and some great helicopter kids rides on level 1.

Baggage

Luggage storage and lockers are available in the arrivals area of the domestic terminal. Luggage storage, wrapping, and courier services (for excess baggage) are available in both the arrivals and departures areas of the international terminal. Left baggage can be claimed from the lost property office at the rear of the international terminal.

Showers

Shower facilities are available free of charge to transit travelers. The showers are located near the airline VIP lounges. The Collection Point store sells toiletries and hires out towels and hairdryers. Shower facilities for non transit travelers are also available free of charge, and can be found on the ground floor arrivals area of the international terminal, after immigration. Towel packs and shower keys are only available for hire when the i-site shop is open. Shower facilities are also available in the airport lounges.

Airport Lounges

In the international terminal you'll find Auckland Airport's Emporer Lounge. The lounge is open for all passengers travelling internationally, either on departure or whilst in transit for a nominal fee. Facilities include Wi-Fi access, a daily buffet, complimentary drinks, snacks and showers. The lounge is open from 6:00am to 11:00pm daily. Pre-booking is recommended.

Airline Lounges

The following airlines have lounges located within the airport. For access to specific lounges, ask your consultant.

Air New Zealand - Air New Zealand has lounges located in both the domestic and international terminals. The domestic lounge opens 45 minutes before the first flight departs. The international lounge opens at 4:30am. Both lounges remain open until the last flight departs. Lounge facilities include light refreshments and bar facilities, barista coffee (limited hours), reading material and TV, gaming consoles, business facilities and showers. Air New Zealand lounges are available to eligible passengers with Koru membership.

Qantas - Qantas has 2 lounges in the international terminal. Located on level 2 and the mezzanine respectively, the Business and First lounges are open from 4:00am to the last Qantas departure. Lounge facilities include dining options, bar service, tea, coffee and beverages, showers, Wi-Fi and internet access, and reading material. The lounges are available to eligible Qantas or partner airline passengers.

Emirates - The Emirates Lounge is located in the international terminal, after security. Lounge facilities include full bar service and large buffet, seating area with TV and reading material, showers, Wi-Fi access and a business centre. The lounge is available to Emirates First and Business Class customers and Skywards Gold members.

Terminal Transfers

Auckland airport has 2 terminals, one for domestic and one for international flights. A free inter-terminal bus service operates every 15 minutes between the terminals. The bus operates from 5:00am to 10.30pm daily. Alternatively, to walk between the terminals takes about 10 minutes.
