Your Australia travel itinerary:
Days 1 - 2: Sydney
Fly from the UK to Sydney.
Days 3 - 6: Sydney
Get your bearings in this sunny, laid back city with a stroll along the harbour front. Try out a café or two, or perhaps just head straight for the bars. Be sure to choose one with a fabulous Sydney Harbour Bridge or Opera House view, or maybe both! Later, you’ll tour the white sails of the Opera House itself, and tuck into a delicious tasting platter overlooking the harbour. In the evening, sit back, relax and let the twinkling lights of Sydney Harbour drift by as you indulge in to a sumptuous three-course meal on your evening dinner cruise.
Days 7 - 8: Hunter Valley
Sip fine wines and feast on delicious artisan produce among the rolling vineyards of the Hunter Valley. Although wine is the main event here, there are also plenty of craft beers, olives, cheeses and chocolates to choose from, and some fine vineyard restaurants. Finally, and the highlight of your Hunter Valley stay, soar above the vines on a magical balloon flight, taking in the sunrise from the air.
Days 9 - 10: Maryvale
Get away from it all among the mountains of Maryvale at Spicers Peak Lodge. Here you’ll stay on an all-inclusive rate, so it’s the perfect place to unwind and treat yourself. Perhaps relax with a treatment or two in the spa, throw the diet out of the window and indulge in the delicious degustation menu, or get outside and look for birds and local wildlife on a guided eco walk or mountain bike ride.
Days 11 - 12: Hinterland
Head to the Hinterland and wake up to the sounds of the rainforest at the romantic Spicers Tamarind Retreat. The air is cooler and fresher up here away from the Sunshine Coast, and the area has a quainter, more rural feel. Hike to flowing waterfalls and explore the rainforests by bike or on foot, or perhaps treat yourself to a picnic. For something a bit different, take a Thai cooking class at your Spicers hotel or sit back and relax in the rainforest spa.
Days 13 - 16: Noosa
Continue to Noosa Heads, a swanky area with some lovely beaches and a decent patch of rainforest. Wear off all that lovely food with a coastal walk in Noosa National Park – just follow the boardwalk from town. While you’re here you’ll spend the day on Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. Swim in brilliant blue lakes and crystal clear creeks, look out for dingoes and spot dolphins, sharks, dugongs and seals off the coast.
Days 17 - 20: Hamilton Island
Cruise the crystal clear waters of Hamilton Island, one of the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Relax in your luxury resort and explore the Great Barrier Reef by snorkel or yacht. Take a walk on over 12 miles of walking trails through the island’s forested interior, and later relax in the spa and enjoy the fabulous gourmet cuisine. For some fabulously fresh seafood, try the award-winning restaurant at the restaurant at Hamilton Island Yacht Club.
Days 21 - 22:
Return to Brisbane and depart for the UK.
