MAGIC MOMENTS: Getting off the train at remote Rawlinna for an Outback roast dinner, the sky was so clear you could see the Milky Way. It was the most impressive blanket of stars I’ve ever been lucky enough to stand under. I took myself off on my own (with my glass of wine) just to stare up at it in total wonder.
OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: Wake to rugged red-sand desert and blue skies blurring past at speed.
FOOD & DRINK: Step back in time with wood-panelled corridors and evening drinks in the lounge. Then enjoy a three-course dinner in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant, where the regionally inspired menu is served with classic Aussie charm.

MAGIC MOMENTS: Hiking the Nitmiluk Gorge to see rock art that’s thousands of years old and listening to mythical stories about how the gorge came to be.
OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: The feeling of remoteness is almost surreal. You’ll see camels, the odd tree and the vast expanse of the rich red Outback. The slow pace of life outside the window allows you to appreciate the world from a different viewpoint.
FOOD & DRINK: The route-inspired menu includes a few surprises like crocodile or buffalo curry (they’re prominent in the Northern Territory). The chefs take time to wander through the carriage, answering any questions about the provenance of the produce.

OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: There’s a wooden open-air observation car at the rear of the train where you can soak in the views of rice paddies, palm trees and rivers. Day trips are included too: you can cycle or trek, taste local produce and visit a market, or even take a cooking class on the river.
FOOD & DRINK: An incredible fusion of French and Asian cuisine, each meal is delicious and beautifully presented. And your steward brings you breakfast and high tea.

OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: The ever-changing landscape is stunning. From the Venetian Lagoon to Alpine peaks and French forests that are studded with fairytale castles, it's breathtaking.
FOOD & DRINK: Crystal glassware and fine porcelain create an elegant ambience that is matched by the freshest local and seasonal produce, all sourced from stops along the train’s route.

VIBE: Enjoy epic mountains through panoramic windows, glass of wine in hand.
MAGIC MOMENTS: Reaching the mountains on the second day and passing Pyramid Falls on the way to Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: You don’t sleep onboard, so the carriage roof is like one big window, showing off the scenery! It’s an ever-changing mix of canyons, mountains, rivers, forests, lakes and wildlife. At the back of the train you can step outside to feel the wind in your hair.
FOOD & DRINK: Our cabin hosts entertained us with local legends as they brought drinks to our seats. In GoldLeaf class, lunch and breakfast are served in the dining room, with local produce like sockeye salmon featuring in gourmet dishes.

VIBE: Relaxed and luxurious, with an air of old-world style – perfect for our honeymoon!
MAGIC MOMENTS: Our first dinner in a candlelit carriage was a wonderful experience. The service was brilliant and we felt like royalty.
OUTSIDE THE WINDOW: The scenery is stunning, a real flavour of South Africa’s rich tapestry. You can lie on your bed and look out at the vineyards, mountains and plains of the Karoo, as well as the mining town of Kimberley and modern Johannesburg. And seeing so many flamingos was amazing.
FOOD & DRINK: A tantalising mix of modern European and traditional African dishes, with delicious international and local wines – all served with a smile. The train manager joins passengers for dinner, regaling you with tales from the tracks.
