The Best Expedition in the World

You may have heard of the competition Queensland Australia ran to find a candidate for The Best Job in the World. Lucky Brit Ben Southall was the man chosen for the job of caretaker to a tropical Australian island. Doesn't sound too much like hard work does it?

The Best Expedition in the World

For Ben's next project he has chosen something more physically challenging. He will be spending 4 months kayaking and sailing over 1600km along the Queensland coast, from the Town of 1770 right up to Cooktown in the far north. As an Ambassador for Tourism Queensland Ben is hoping this challenge will not only encourage more people from around the world to experience the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, but also to spread the message of research, education and conservation of this natural wonder. Ben set sail on his challenge on Saturday and you can follow his progress on his website via a GPS tracked map and regular blog posts.

In this clip Ben introduces the new project and gives us a glimpse of some of the stunning scenes we can expect more of during it.
