Thailand has been a firm favourite for travellers for over 20 years now which means it is well set up for tourism. If you’d rather stay away from the touristy areas, head to more secluded islands like Koh Lipe, Ko Lanta and Ko Jum which you can get to on long-tail boats and charter boats that leave regularly. If you’re looking for a cultural experience in Thailand, head north to Chiang Mai where you can trek to rural villages and experience a slower pace of life. You’ll also find an abundance of temples and markets to explore. A lesser known attraction in Southern Thailand is Koh Sok National Park where you’ll finding floating river huts bobbing in the oldest evergreen forest in the world.
Sailing around Halong Bay on an old junk boat is a must for anyone visiting Vietnam. The towering limestone cliffs and turquoise waters make the perfect backdrop to relax in style and get some awesome travel photos to take home with you. Head to Nha Trang for idyllic beaches and Hoi An is the perfect place to explore by bicycle. You can’t visit Vietnam without learning more about the history of the turbulent county so head to the Chu Chi Tunnels for a humbling and unforgettable experience.
The diverse country of Indonesia is the perfect place to travel if you’re looking to get off the beaten track and explore the laid-back side to Asia. Head to beautiful Bali for an exotic experience like no other or jump on a boat to Lombok to find deserted islands in paradise. The Gili islands are a firm favourite for adventurous backpackers and Komodo National Park is a must-see for anyone who wants to see Komodo Dragons in the wild. Nature lovers shouldn’t miss a trip to Sumatra to see orang-utans in Gunung Leuser National Park and explore everything from steaming jungles to volcano summits to pristine beaches.
