Inside Clubrooms at London Gatwick

If you’re travelling for a special occasion, but don’t quite have the budget to fly Business or First Class and get access to an airline lounge, Clubrooms at London Gatwick is the ideal solution. This lounge offers a tranquil reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the main terminal, as well as a chance to grab some food, have a tipple or two, and catch up on the latest social media updates before you fly. What better way to kick-start your holiday as soon as you reach the airport? My husband and I certainly thought so, so when we flew out of the South Terminal for our honeymoon last year, it launched our romantic getaway in real style…

Speed through premium security

The Premium Security gates at London Gatwick are worth their weight in gold and, thankfully, your entry to Clubrooms includes this fast-track option. I don’t know about you, but in the past I’ve spent in excess of 30 minutes queueing to get airside! But with Premium Security access there is no queuing. In fact, we were through in less than five minutes, giving us more time for shopping and relaxing in the lounge prior to our flight.

Experience first-class service, without the price tag

Even if you’re not travelling in a Business or First Class cabin, starting your journey in Clubrooms certainly gives the illusion that you are! The staff are attentive, greeting you on arrival and showing you to the perfect seating space for your group – not to mention ensuring you’re always well fed and watered with a full table and bar service. The décor and furnishings are luxurious too; even the bathroom is high end. And, of course, unlimited Wi-Fi, magazines, newspapers and charging points come as standard. Having used exclusive airline lounges before, this feels just as lavish and tranquil.

Order tasty cuisine from a menu of fresh, local produce

Fast, fresh and delicious – what more could you ask for from an airport lounge experience? Instead of the standard buffet offering, in Clubrooms you are presented with a menu on arrival, allowing you to choose from a selection of hot and cold choices, all made to order. The menu varies depending on the time of day you visit – for us we had the pleasure of trying the delicious breakfast menu. I ordered a brunch staple, eggs benedict, while my partner tucked into a hearty full English. Bliss.

Toast your holiday with a Buck’s Fizz…

…or Champagne, wine, beer, cocktails and a selection of hot and soft drinks. Whatever you want – it’s included. You can help yourself to tea and a range of coffees from the machines in the lounge, or choose a soft drink from a fridge packed with them! Fancy something stronger? All you need  to do is order it! We went for Buck’s Fizz with our breakfast – it’d be rude not to.

Get immersed in the exclusivity

Entry into the lounge is number-limited, which means it’s always best to book in advance. What it also means is that you’ll always have an exclusive, intimate experience. All of the plush seating is perfectly spaced apart, so you never feel like you’re on top of fellow guests. There is space for groups and couples alike, as well as several seats overlooking the runway – ideal for aviation geeks.

Add Clubrooms access onto your next holiday – chat to your Flight Centre Travel Expert to find out more. Entry is £38pp in advance, or £50pp on the door.
