We don’t mean to brag, but our Flight Centre Concierge team is pretty great. Whenever you book a tailor-made holiday with us, your Travel Consultant and our Concierge team will be on-hand from before you fly, to the moment you arrive home safely. Together, they can help you prepare for your trip, offer advice on things to see and do, and ensure your Journey goes off without a hitch. Here are just five (of many) ways our Concierge Team can make your holiday extra-special:
Organise your birthday plans
If you’re marking a birthday milestone on your travels, speak to your Travel Consultant or our Concierge team – they’ll be able to help arrange a special dinner, cake or something more bespoke. Emma, travelling to the USA with her family over her 12th birthday this year, is the perfect example of someone who has benefited from our teams' extraordinary help – as you can see in the picture above. “We had a fantastic holiday,” said Emma’s dad Simon. “Emma was thrilled to have some birthday cake in the Grand Canyon!”
Find you the perfect dinner
Our Travel Consultants and Concierge team know the world like the back of their hand. They’re widely travelled and have access to in-destination specialists all around the globe, which means they can tap into the best tours, activities and travel icons. And, perhaps most importantly, they know all the best places to eat and drink. This came in particularly handy when one customer was visiting Australia over Christmas, and wanted to have the perfect roast dinner on 25th December. Our Concierge team found a restaurant that offered the whole shebang – just a short, 25-minute drive away from where our customer was staying in Port Fairy. They got the best of both worlds: blissful Aussie weather and traditional turkey with all the trimmings.
Help you get up-close to wildlife
The clue is in the name with wildlife: it’s wild. So no matter how much you want to see tigers in India, pandas in China or the Big Five in Africa, it doesn’t always come off. But that’s not for want of trying. Our Flight Centre Concierge team has gone above and beyond in the past to near-guarantee a wildlife encounter – even if that means getting our customers to the nearest animal sanctuary. That happened to one customer who booked a honeymoon safari with us; she was a huge lover of elephants and, when she and her new husband didn’t see them on a game drive, we organised for a private driver to pick them up and take them to a nearby elephant reserve instead.
Set up your surprises
Whether it’s a surprise for a special birthday, anniversary or a certain proposal, our Travel Consultants and Concierge team can keep a secret – and help you pull it off! The teams recently helped a couple who had been engaged for 10 years. The girlfriend thought she and her fiancé were off to Mallorca, but really he was whisking her away to Las Vegas to get hitched on the balcony of Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower!
Arrange a really restful break
Ironically, planning a relaxing break can sometimes be stressful. But our Travel Consultants and Concierge team are there to help alleviate any strain. Georgie, one of our Concierge team, recently helped a customer who was recovering from an illness. All she wanted to do was unwind – but worries about her strict dietary requirements were hampering her ability to do so. Georgie stepped in and called the hotel before her departure.
“I arranged for the head chef to come and meet her once she had checked in and he went through all the menus at each of the resort’s restaurants,” Georgie explained. “It gave her a chance to go through her requirements with him, so she felt comfortable about ordering throughout her trip.”
