Airline in the spotlight: Emirates

We know of people who will only fly to Australia on the Emirates A380. Among aviation fans flying on an A380 denotes ultimate bragging rights. With 15 A380’s in service and another 75 more on order, Emirates is the largest operator of this revolutionary superjumbo.

What makes the A380 so special?

For those lucky enough to be in the First Class cabin the A380 holds the world’s first onboard shower spa. For First Class and Business Class passengers there is an onboard lounge and for passengers in all cabins there is ice, Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment.

Why Emirates?

Emirates operate 15 daily flights to Dubai from six UK airports and onwards to over 100 destinations worldwide. Passengers can take advantage of five services a day from Heathrow, three daily from London Gatwick and Manchester, two a day from Birmingham, and a daily service from both Newcastle and Glasgow.

ice, ice baby

ice is the name given to the award winning in-flight entertainment system onboard Emirates flights. With 1200 channels on demand in every cabin that’s enough to keep you entertained throughout even the longest of long haul flight.

How generous

Emirates flights boast a spacious economy cabin, with a 34 inch seat pitch in Economy Class. Passengers are also given a generous baggage allowance, 30kg for Economy Class passengers rising to 40kg for Business Class and 50kg for First Class. The lucky Business and First Class passengers are also treated to a complimentary chauffeur-drive service within a 70 mile radius and First Class seats include an in seat mini bar!

Award winning

With all these features it is easy to see why Emirates have won over 400 international awards for excellence.
