Best destinations to help you achieve your 2015 New Year’s Resolutions

Another new year, another list of resolutions. What does your list look like this year? If it’s anything like the average Brit’s it’ll feature a few goals around health, fitness, career, family and finance. Making resolutions at the beginning of a new year is a nice way to get a fresh start and begin living life the way we want to, but sometimes it can be tricky to know where to start in order to turn those goals into achievements. To kick off your year in the right direction, we’ve made a list of the best destinations that’ll help you achieve your 2015 New Year’s Resolutions. Oh, and as a bonus: visiting any of these destinations will help out if one of your resolutions is to travel more!

Do a bungee jump: New Zealand

Are you looking for some more thrills in your life in 2015? Home of the world’s first commercial bungy jump, New Zealand is the destination for you. Not only can you jump from a bridge headfirst into a valley, secured only by a large rubber band but you can also sample other adrenalin-inducing activities such as skydiving, white water rafting (and, as a matter of fact, black water rafting), zorbing, snowboarding and more. If it’s thrills you seek, you’ll find them in abundance in New Zealand. Read more about New Zealand’s adrenalin-filled activities.

Spend more time with my family & friends: USA

This is a resolution that appears on many a list in the New Year. It’s so easy to get caught up in day to day life that another year can pass us by without really taking the time to enjoy relaxing with our loved ones. Don’t let 2015 be another one of those years. If it’s quality time you’re looking for, the best place to spend it is in the USA. If you’re travelling with little ones, Florida has Disneyworld, Universal Orlando, Discovery Cove and loads more which will keep kids (big and small) happy for days. Or take a road trip along famous Route 66 for a holiday with friends that you’ll never forget.

Take better photos: South Africa

It’s not so much that South Africa itself will make you a better photographer, but you will struggle to find a destination that offers as many photogenic moments as this diverse country. We guarantee that your camera will be practically attached to your face for your entire journey, and they say practice makes perfect, so by the end of your trip you’ll be one step closer to pro status. From grand mountains to majestic wildlife and picture-perfect beaches you’ll never be short of a subject to point your lens at. Read more about improving your photography skills.

Get fitter & healthier: Australia

You don’t have to go to a detox retreat and eat nothing but lettuce leaves to achieve your goals of health & fitness in 2015. Just take a trip to Australia. Not only does the weather encourage you to get outside, but once you’re in the great outdoors there’s no end to the activities you can try. Hike in the Blue Mountains, swim on the Great Barrier Reef, run along any one of the country’s 10,685 beautiful beaches, kayak in the wilderness of the Northern Territory, climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge…I could go on, but you get the idea. The food is fresh and delicious, the sun is shining and fitness really never felt as fun as in Australia.

Improve your cooking skills: Thailand

Want to impress your friends and family in the kitchen? Get yourself to Thailand and learn how to make a traditional and tasty Thai dish. Known for its fresh and flavoursome cuisine, Thailand is an incredible holiday destination that offers culture, beaches and, of course, great food. You’ll leave with more than a new skill to show off when you get home: you’ll also be bringing home incredible memories from a spectacular destination.
