Vancouver Travel Guide
Discover Canada's urban wonderland
Relaxed, cosmopolitan and home to one of the biggest urban parks in North America – we love Vancouver, and we know Vancouverites love their city too. And who could blame us? There are a lot of fantastic things to discover here, from diverse neighbourhoods to vast wilderness.
Eclectic Chinatown gives way to trendy Gastown (with its historic steam clock), before merging into Downtown. Moments later, you’ll catch a glimpse of the emerald glow of Stanley Park, with its 1,001 acres of gardens, ponds and beaches. If you’re a foodie, visit Granville Island, where you can gorge on local treats – like the fresh doughnuts from Lee’s. And if the island life is for you, take the ferry over to Vancouver Island to wander the quaint streets of Victoria, or head out in search of humpback whales and orcas.
But the north is where the city really sets itself apart. A free shuttle from Downtown’s Canada Place will take you to Grouse Mountain, where you can take the gondola or hike to the summit for some unrivalled city vistas. Don’t miss Capilano Suspension Bridge Park either. Here you can experience its namesake: a 70-metre-high suspension bridge spanning a 140-metre-wide canyon, as well as a treetop walk, cliff-side stroll and a birds of prey display.
