Formerly known as Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary, Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas boasts two hectares of natural environment to provide an interactive experience for visitors in a stunning and spacious setting.

The accredited eco tourism attraction offers an immersion wildlife experience with elevated boardwalks from which to observe Australian animals while birds fly freely overhead. The park contains four immersive environments: Rainforest, Wetlands, Grasslands and Savannah. Each habitat showcases the flora and fauna native to that particular environment from cassowaries in the Rainforest and koalas and crocodiles in the Wetlands areas, to tree kangaroos and wallabies in the open-air Grasslands environ – all up over 180 species call Wildlife Habitat home. There are also daily free guided tours of the various environments plus animal presentations for an up-close encounter with koalas, pythons and crocodiles.

Wildlife Habitat is also renowned for its Breakfast with the Birds and Lunch with the Lorikeets experiences, which have been entertaining visitors for over 20 years. The option sees you enjoy a tropical buffet in the Wetlands restaurant while tame avian species such as parrots, lorikeets, cockatoos and more create a colourful cacophony as they fly freely around and perch on your shoulder while you dine.

Breakfast with the Birds is from 8am to 10:30am and Lunch with the Lorikeets is from 12pm to 2pm daily. Adult admission (including the breakfast or lunch option) is AU$47 and AU$23.50 for children aged four to 14 years. The Wildlife Care Behind the Scenes Tour is an extra AU$20 for adults and AU$10 for kids.
