Lake Weyba

Lake Weyba is in a section of the Noosa National Park known as East Weyba. This clear, shallow, salt water lake is almost 2.5 miles across at its widest point and drains into Weyba Creek, which in turn winds its way to the Noosa River. Although the park area of East Weyba has no designated walking trails there are still excellent ways in which to experience Lake Weyba and the enchanting surrounding area. 

The best way to do so is by getting out on the water with a canoe or kayak, enjoying the calm waters and surrounding scenery. There are several launch areas situated along the lake itself and near the mouth of Weyba Creek. Because of the lake’s shallow bed, this is the perfect place for novice kayakers. Explore the shoreline on foot too as bird and plant life are plentiful and there are even places where kangaroos can be seen.

The lake is surrounded mostly by lush forests and bushland but there are also comfortable accommodation sites as well, from luxury lake houses to inviting cottages. These properties blend in beautifully with the natural setting and offer a great way in which to explore the water and surrounding area. These lodging choices offer quiet nature trails and even canoes and kayaks for exploring and are the perfect place from which to enjoy a lakeside picnic or scenic stroll.

Canoe or kayak launch areas for Lake Weyba are at the end of Eumarella Road, Lake Weyba Drive or along the western banks of Weyba Creek.
