Broadbeach

Hidden in a quiet corner of the Gold Coast, Broadbeach is close to vibrant entertainment districts but just far enough away to make for a seriously relaxing holiday. The golden sands, endless sunshine, stellar surf break and laid-back vibe make it one of the most-loved destinations south of Brisbane.

Located an easy hour’s drive from Queensland's capital, Broadbeach is Surfers Paradise’s laid-back older brother – far removed from the hectic central Gold Coast district, it sits quietly against the Pacific, letting one of the best surf breaks on the south coast crash into its stunning piece of sand. It’s a relaxing base for the wider Gold Coast region, offering a good jumping-off point for entertainment options across the coast and escapes into the hinterland to the West.

Jupiter’s Casino is the flagship entertainment venue near Broadbeach. Revellers try their luck during all hours of the day and night, however there are plenty of other attractions on offer – live music, comedy, theatre and musical tour frequently and there are eight bars and seven restaurants to keep visitors culinary senses satisfied. The 594-room, 21-level hotel also gives guests access to a health spa and gym.

Pacific Fair, only a short drive away, hosts some 250 stores designed to stretch credit cards to their absolute maximum. The shopping centre is home to a 12-screen cinema and atmospheric cafés, making it the ideal place to spend a lazy afternoon. Be sure to visit the Customer Service Centre on arrival to grab a Visitor's Pack, which gives guests access to over 100 discounts and offers to use during their stay.

Broadbeach has a long-term love affair with live music, hosting the Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival each May and the Broadbeach Jazz Festival every August. Both are host to a wide range of local, national and international acts. If you’re around at other times of the year, be sure to check out the beachfront markets on the first and third Sunday of every month for some hand-made goods and fresh local produce.
