Day 1
Fly from the UK to Miami
Days 1-3
Miami
Welcome to multicultural Miami, a diverse melting pot of sizzling Caribbean and central and South American flavours. Enjoy a culinary walking tour, stopping by Little Havana for some tropical Cuban fare. Year-round sun in this beachside city sends locals and visitors outdoors to the fabulous beaches, especially South Beach, known as SoBe, whose abundant restaurants and cafés will tempt you with everything from Italian ice cream to ceviche.
Days 4-6
New Orleans
Atmospheric New Orleans’ faded jazz halls and French Quarter houses are home to some fabulous restaurants, from down to earth hole-in-the-walls to luxury high-end eateries with gourmet dining. Sample delicious po-boys (overstuffed sandwiches) and sugared beignets (square, hole-less doughnuts), then set sail on a jazz cruise on the Mississippi River where you'll sample mouth-watering Creole dishes such as gumbo and jambalaya.
Days 7-8
Houston
Tuck into tasty Tex-Mex in Houston, then head to the Museum District and perhaps visit NASA’s fascinating Space Center. This town is renowned for its steaks and grills, and even hosts an extremely popular annual world championship barbecue contest, known as The Cook-off. But it’s not just about BBQ; the city also boasts great Filipino, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine and locals devour the traditional Czech treat kolache by the plate load.
Days 9-10
Austin
Catch a concert and sip a margarita while gorging on smoky Texas barbecue in Austin, a city filled with music and famed for its variety of live entertainment venues. In recent years the city has branched out from traditional Tex-Mex and tacos, and today up-and-coming restaurants and imaginative food trucks serve a smorgasbord of culinary delights among Austin’s leafy parks, stimulating museums, first-rate theatres and funky independent shops.
Days 11-13
Los Angeles
End on a high with modern gourmet food in eclectic Los Angeles, which dishes up a plethora of tantalising dishes – indulge in sensational seafood, steaming bowls of ramen, spicy Thai curries, any burger flavour you can imagine, and of course sushi. When not feasting, celebrity-spot in fashionable Hollywood, browse the shops on Rodeo Drive, or maybe walk the walk of fame. Whatever you do, don’t leave without sampling a succulent French dip sandwich.
Days 14-15
Depart Los Angeles and return to the UK
