Your Example Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from the UK to San Francisco and check into your hotel.
Day 2
San Francisco
Your first stop is fabulous San Francisco, known for its welcoming, laid-back vibe. Discover the Ferry Building’s popular farmer’s market, the restaurants and sea lions of Pier 39 and the eclectic shops of Union Square. While you’re here, set off on a Muir Woods & Sausalito Tour, admiring the giant California Redwood Sequoia trees of the Muir Woods before enjoying a spot of retail therapy in Sausalito, California’s prettiest town. You’ll even get to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Days 3-4
Napa Valley
Sip on superior quality cabernet in the sun-drenched Napa Valley, its rolling green hills carpeted in vineyards and home to over 400 wineries. Taste the top notch wines and dine on gourmet cellar door food or perhaps hop on board the historic Napa Valley Wine Train for an unforgettable dining experience. The food served on board is fabulous, so be sure to come hungry!
4* River Terrace Inn
Day 5
Sonoma Valley
In the heart of California’s Sonoma County, the Sonoma Valley is known for its 400-odd wineries, some of which have been producing top quality wines for over 150 years. Carpeted in lush green, the valley’s rolling hills are dotted with craft breweries, regular farmers’ markets and artisan food shops - do not leave without trying the deliciously fresh olive oil and locally made cheeses, as well as the wine of course.
4* Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
Days 6-8
Lake Tahoe
North America's largest alpine lake, Lake Tahoe is an idyllic summer retreat and bustling winter resort for families and adventurers alike. Winter brings action-packed cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice-skating, while summer is reserved for fishing, golf, hiking, mountain biking and swimming. All year round the lake’s south side hosts festivals and boasts a thriving casino and nightlife scene, while the north side offers a more laid-back ambience for families.
4* Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort
Days 9-10
Yosemite National Park
Admire the spectacular mountain and lake scenery in Yosemite, the shining star of America’s national parks. Yosemite offers year-round adventures, with hikes among the wildflowers and waterfalls popular in spring and summer, drives to view the changing foliage colours in autumn and skiing the valleys in winter. This national park is truly spectacular, so get your camera ready for beautiful views at every turn.
