Your Example Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from the UK to Bangkok.
Days 2-3
Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok and meet the rest of your group and your leader at your welcome dinner. The next day, you’ll have free time to explore the city, then you’ll hop on board a traditional long tail boat and cruise the pretty canals, stopping at an Artist Village to watch a Thai puppet show, and later visiting the impressive Wat Arun. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a tuk tuk street eats tour and a trip to Wat Pho, which by now will be lit up against the night sky.
Days 4-5
Kanchanaburi
Leaving Bangkok behind, you’ll head to Ban Nong Khao Village, where you can explore by bike or local truck before enjoying a traditional Thai lunch prepared by a local family. Continuing on to Kanchanaburi, famous for its bridge over the River Kwai, you’ll discover the Kanchanaburi War cemetery and the JEATH War Museum before boarding a boat to the River Kwai Jungle Raft for dinner accompanied by a sunset Mon dance and music show.
Day 6
Uthai Thani
Drive on to Uthai Thani, the main city in the forested province of Uthai Thani, which is dotted with streams and home to many rare and endangered animals. Better yet, it’s delightfully free of visitors. On the way to the city, you’ll stop at the Banham-Jamsai Tower to take in the views from Thailand’s highest viewpoint, then later on, you’ll enjoy a private dinner cruise accompanied by traditional Thai music.
3* Touch Star Resort
Days 7-8
Tak
The following morning, you’ll call in at Sukothai Historical Park where you can visit the ruins of the ancient city of Sukothai. After lunch, continue to Tak for a traditional dinner prepared by a local family. The next day, take a trip to the markets and temples of Mae Sot, where you’ll also visit Wat Phra That Doi Din Kiu with its 400 steps up to a fabulous view over the jungle and beyond to neighbouring Myanmar.
Day 9
Doi Inthanon National Park
Drive on through the northern Thai jungles to Doi Inthanon National Park, passing quaint traditional villages along the way. Doi Inthanon National Park is often known as the Roof of Thailand, and is part of the Himalayan mountain range, with its highest mountain, Doi Inthanon, standing at 2,565m. Even if you’re not climbing to the peak, you can still enjoy the walking trails, waterfalls, and stupas dotted around the park, and look out for the colourful birdlife.
Days 10-11
Mae Hong Son
The next day, visit Prijinda Cave to see the limestone formations, and call in at a bird conservation centre. In the evening, you’ll have time to explore Mae Hong Son night market. You’ll have a full day in Mae Hong Son to cruise the River Pai and learn about the Long Neck Hill trible at Ban Nam Phiang Din Village, and take a wander around the various Wats around the edge of the city’s Mae Hong Son pond.
Days 12-13
Chiang Mai
Continue on to Chiang Mai, at the foot of northern Thailand’s picturesque mountains, and explore the city on foot with your guide. While staying in Chiang Mai, you’ll take a full day trip to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, where you can feed these majestic creatures and learn more about their behaviour. You can even watch them have a mud spa or join them in the river for a bath! In the evening, your final night, tuck in to a Khantoke farewell dinner.
Days 14-15
Return to Bangkok and fly back to the UK.
