Day 1
Fly from the UK to Bangkok.
Days 2-3
Kanchanaburi
Travel to Kanchanaburi, home to the ‘bridge on the River Kwai’. Take a train journey over the bridge and experience a piece of World War II history. Here, thousands of prisoners died constricting the Thai-Burma Railway. The following day, visit Erawan National Park and waterfall, before continuing to the Thai-Burma War Museum and cemetery, built to honour those who lost their lives. In the afternoon, you’ll travel to Ayutthaya for dinner on a converted 1930s rice barge.

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya
Spend the day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ayutthaya Historical Park, which served as Thailand’s capital from the 14th to the 18th centuries, when it ranked as one of the most magnificent cities in the world. Take in ancient temples and summer palaces under the expert knowledge of your guide.

Days 5-6
Chiang Mai
Catch a flight to Chiang Mai and spend the morning touring the local markets with a chef, picking out ingredients to whip into delicious dishes. Return to the culinary school and learn how to make flavour-packed Thai cuisine, before feasting on your creations for lunch. Afterwards, visit the historic Wat Chedi Luang and listen to monks chanting in the golden Doi Suthep temple. Sit down with one of the monks to discuss daily life and Buddhism. The next morning, you’ll have some free time to relax, before travelling to the countryside to enjoy dinner with a local family.

Days 7-8
Bangkok
Fly back to Bangkok and take a klong riverboat ride through Bangkok’s canals, before visiting Wat Pho, the famed Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Enjoy your final night in Bangkok, before flying home to the UK the following day.

Depart Bangkok and return to the UK.
