Day 1
Ronda
Pick up your car and drive to Ronda. Spend a day in this mountain-top city, which is majestically perched atop an inland plateau. The Moorish Old Town is connected to the newer part of the city by the Puente Nuevo Bridge, the city’s most famous landmark. Take a stroll around the gardens of Mondragon Palace, and follow the pathway running from the bullring along the cliff-edge to Paseo Ernest Hemingway, where you’ll find a balcony offering incredible views of the city.
4* Hotel Catalonia Reina Victoria Wellness & Spa
Days 2-3
Seville
Andalucía’s capital is bright and lively, drenched in sunshine and filled with colour and history. Divided into two by the Guadalquivir River, the streets hide Roman ruins, exquisite architecture, lively plazas and plenty of world class museums and art galleries. Embark on a walking tour of the city, where you’ll feel the rhythms of flamenco; the Triana neighbourhood is the best place for dancing. Visit Alcazar of Seville, the oldest palace still in use in Europe and a filming location for Game of Thrones, before feasting on the fresh fish tapas this city is famed for.
Casas de la Juderia
Day 4
Cordoba
Drive onto Cordoba, one of the greatest cities of the medieval world. The grand Mezquita mosque is one of the wonders of Europe; stroll around the great walls before heading inside, where the magnificent red and white striped arches stretch the length of four football pitches. Amble through the Old City, taking in the Roman Bridge and the Jewish Quarter, and head to Alcazar, where you’ll find some of the most beautiful gardens in Andalusia. Don’t forget your camera when you stroll along the Callejon de las Flores, the most famous and photographed whitewashed, flower-filled street in Cordoba.
NH Collection Amistad Cordoba
Days 5-6
Granada
Continue to Granada, set at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Take in the majestic Alhambra Palace, a walled fortress housing Moorish palaces and gardens and, after working up an appetite, stop for tapas and one of the many bars serving delicious small plates, including fresh prawns with lemon and local cheeses. Perhaps spend your last evening watching a late-night flamenco performance in the caves of the Sacromonte Hill.
