With five glorious nights in Cape Town, you can really get under the skin of this beautiful city. Catch the cable car to the flat summit of Table Mountain for unparalleled vistas of the metropolis, search for penguins on Boulders Beach, discover the water’s diversity of shark species, eat delicious barbecue and walk the institutions of Museum Mile. You’ll get to experience the city’s highlights with two great tours too: sample world-renowned grapes as you explore the Winelands; and spend a day in awe of the arresting bays, cliffs, hills and valleys at Cape Point.

Lauded for being the most luxurious train in the world, this journey takes you through the historic Victorian village of Matjiesfontein and the fertile valleys of Great Karoo and Klein Karoo, before stopping at Kimberley en route. Here you’ll explore the Diamond Mine Museum as well as gazing across the Big Hole – famous for being the largest man-made excavation in the world. And when you’re not soaking up all that postcard-perfect scenery, you can unwind in the refurbished wood-panelled Pullman sleeper suites, complete with en-suite bathrooms and a mini bar, stocked with drinks of your choice.
