Lake Taupo is a great spot to try water-skiing, sailing and kayaking while the surrounding forests offer numerous hiking and mountain bike trails. In the evening, set off on a two hour Sunset Walk in Tongariro National Park on a gentle track on Mt Ruapehu. On reaching the ridge, watch the sunset with a glass of New Zealand’s finest wines.
