Fly from the UK to Rome.
Watch the world go by at the Spanish Steps, the widest stairway in Europe, which connect lower Piazza di Spagna with the upper piazza Trinita dei Monti. Continue onto the beautiful Trevi Fountain, stopping off at one of the renowned gelaterias for a scoop of your favourite ice-cream. The spectacular Villa Borghese gardens are the perfect place to escape the bustle of the city. After working up an appetite, head for Trastevere, an area bursting with trendy bars and restaurants. The following day, you’ll be picked up from your hotel for a trip to the Colosseum. Stroll around the largest amphitheatre ever built and marvel at the incredible architecture of this symbol of ancient Rome, where spectators once gathered to watch gladiatorial games. From here, you’ll be taken to Vatican City. Take in the beauty of the Sistine Chapel, and be sure to look up for a glimpse of Michelangelo’s masterpiece on the ceiling, before visiting the iconic St Stephen’s Basilica. Enjoy your final night in Rome with a delicious plate of pasta and glass of wine.

Hop onboard the train and admire the changing landscape through the window as you travel to Florence. Head to the world-famous Uffizi Gallery, take in Michelangelo’s David at the Galleria dell’Accademia and climb the Duomo cathedral for incredible views over the city. Discover the city’s beautiful churches, including Santa Maria Novella and San Marco. Cross the Ponte Vecchi bridge, browsing the shops upon it as you make your way to the 16th century Boboli Gardens. Here, you will find endless walkways shaded by trees, and the picturesque Fountain of Neptune. Spend an afternoon discovering Pisa, renowned for the world famous Leaning Tower. Take some photographs, before strolling past the city’s Tomanesque buildings, Gothic churches and Renaissance piazzas; the perfect place to stop for an Aperol Spritz. Take a trip to Siena and enjoy a walking tour of the city, home to the Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio horse race takes place every year. Continue to the walled town of San Gimignano and arrive in time to see the sun set behind the Tuscan hills, before enjoying a delicious dinner and wine tasting in the Chianti countryside.
Half-day Pisa tour
4* Grand Hotel Adriatico
Board the train once more and travel to Venice, one of the world’s most romantic cities. A labyrinth of cobbled streets and narrow walkways, Venice is best explored on foot, or better yet, by gondola. Take a ride along the canals, before stopping for an Italian espresso in Piazza San Marco. Take in the Bell Tower and St Mark’s Basilica, which is one of the city’s best-loved landmarks. Our favourite way to see Rialto Bridge is on a boat trip along the canal; take some photographs away from the crowds, and once you’re back on dry land, stroll over the oldest crossing on the canal. Spend a day discovering the outlying islands of the Venetian lagoon. Murano is also known as the Glass Island thanks to its heritage of incredible glassworks, while in Burano you’ll find vividly painted houses and lace making. The nature reserve island of Torcello is home to magnificent Byzantine mosaics in the 17th-century cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. In the afternoon, you’ll return to Venice Airport to fly home.
4* Ca De Conti
Return to Venice Airport to fly home.
