Start your Journey amid the Roman treasures, shady squares and colourful houses of Arles. The town’s cathedral is one of the greatest of the medieval Provence; explore the incredible architecture, before enjoying a coffee overlooking this spectacle. Take in the museums, and discover the sites painted by Van Gogh, who came to this town in 1888.
Drive onto Avignon, set on the leafy banks of the Rhone. In the heart of the old town is the Palais des Papes, where you’ll get a sense of what life in a 700-year-old palace was like. Wander along the remains of the St Benezet medieval bridge, and explore the Jardin du Richer des Roms, a public garden which has its own Cotes du Rhone vineyard and bar where you can sip wines.
Aix en Provence
Continue to Aix-en-Provence, among the most elegant destinations in France. Stroll the Cours Morabeau and explore the old centre, where you’ll find Provence’s finest market, held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Wander on past the incredible 17th and 18th century mansions, take in the museums and enjoy a picnic in one of the many beautiful gardens.
Hop back in the car and drive to Cannes, your home for the next two nights. Perhaps take a stroll along the Boulevard de la Croisette and marvel at the Belle Epoque buildings, or sip a coffee along the beachfront promenade while celebrity-spotting. Explore the old town of Le Suquet, or hop aboard a boat to the picturesque Lerins Islands.
Finish your trip in the capital of the French Riviera, Nice. Peruse the Promenade du Paillon, wander around the city’s world-class art galleries and museums, visit the famous Cours Saleva market in Vieux Nice, and embark on a tour of glamorous Monaco.
Fly home to the UK.
