Your Example Itinerary
Fly from the UK to Beijing
Land in Beijing and get ready to spend two full days exploring the lively Chinese capital. There’s heaps to see! Don’t miss historical highlights such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven with its show-stealing Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. You’ll also be heading out of the city on a guided full-day tour of the Great Wall at the well-preserved Mutianyu section, with a picnic lunch included. Afterwards, why not try taking the toboggan back down?!
4* Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing
Next, you’ll fly to Xi’an, home to one of the world’s most incredible ancient wonders – the Terracotta Army – where an estimated 8,000 uniquely crafted warriors have been guarding a tomb for more than two millennia. Be prepared for an epic day of exploring; alongside the Terracotta Army you’ll also get to visit the Banpo Museum – China’s first prehistoric excavation site displaying a 6,000-year-old Neolithic village – and see the Huaqing Hot Springs. Round off the day with a delicious dumpling dinner.
5* Sofitel Xian on Renmin Square
Take the high-speed train from Xi’an to Chengdu – capital of the Sichuan Province. A big city that feels like a small town, Chengdu is best known for its friendly teahouses, up-and-coming craft beer scene and flavoursome cuisine. Oh, and its pandas. Fear not, we’ve included a tour that takes you to Chengdu’s Panda Breeding Centre, the best place to see them. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Jinsha Site Museum which houses artefacts such as ancient gold and jade amongst other trinkets.

The following day spend your time exploring Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Park and the iconic Reed Flute Cave.
5* Sheraton Guilin Hotel
Fly to Shanghai and familiarise yourself with the city during a private walking tour where you’ll get to explore the city’s old districts and lanes, take in its impressive modern architecture and experience the local food markets.
