Day 1

Fly from the UK to Anchorage.

Day 2


There’s plenty to see and do here; you’ll discover Anchorage Museum, meet a bush pilot, explore downtown Anchorage and visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Here you’ll have a private presentation and learn all about the fascinating lives and traditions of the state’s First People. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure – perhaps peruse the shops and pick up a souvenir from one of the many native art galleries.

Days 3-4

Denali National Park

The journey to Denali is just as mesmerising as the park itself. Chug across streams and past soaring peaks in a dome railcar, onboard the world-famous Alaskan Railroad train. You’ll meet an intrepid local climber who has scaled the mighty Mount Denali, enjoy a night of traditional Alaskan entertainment and food, before exploring the inspirational six-million-acre park. The time here is yours – perhaps go for a hike, raft down the Nenana River, or opt for a helicopter tour over the epic scenery, admiring landscapes interspersed with snow-capped peaks and emerald meadows.

Days 5-6

Girdwood and Mount Alyeska

Journey along the scenic George Parks Highway on your way to Girdwood – a ski resort town home to the luxurious Hotel Alyeska. Join four-time Iditarod winner, Martin Buser, and his champion huskies as he talks about the perils of undertaking a 1,049-mile dogsled race. On arrival in Girdwood, you can take the gondola to the summit of the mountain for 360-degree vistas of the undulating landscapes. The next day, you’ll head out into Prince William Sound and College Fjord on a 26 Glacier Cruise. As you float along the water, keep your eyes peeled for marine life – from sea otters and porpoises to whales.
