We turn 1 today and a £100 travel giveaway

April 12, 2012 by Jayne Gorman

It’s like it was meant to be. On the 11th April this blog had it’s 1st birthday. This is our 100th blog post and over on facebook we are working our way towards 10,000 fans! That’s a lot of 1’s. So to celebrate this coming of age and thank all of you who have supported us, we have a £100 Travel Gift Card to giveaway. All we ask in return for this are your thoughts.

10,000 pennies for your thoughts!

We would like you to leave us a comment below with your thoughts on the blog. What content have you loved? What would you like to see more of? Are there any particular destinations, flights or tours you would like us to cover? Share your thoughts below and we will pick one of the comments at random to receive a £100 Travel Gift Card. (Make sure you log in with a valid email address so we can contact you. Winner will be announced by 29th April.)

Our highlights

This blog is made up of inspirational travel tales from Flight Centre consultants, featured bloggers and budding writers whose passion for travel pours from their posts. Some of our favourites include;

A post by Flight Centre’s Sally McCutchion about a trip to India that spurred conflicting emotions – India: Love it or hate it

Travel writer Candace Rardon’s honest account of hiking the Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand

Tongariro6

Vicky Philpott’s comic account of her attempt to track down celebrities in LA.

Popular posts

Undoubtedly this year’s most popular post was Seeking bloggers for a G Adventure in India where we announced our search for a roving reporter to send on a G Adventures tour of the Golden Triangle. The response to this contest was huge and all the entries were highly impressive. We eventually whittled the entries down to 1 winner, Jenna Harrison, who impressed with her ability to tell a tale in statements of 140 characters – a crucial skill for travel bloggers. She kept us entertained with quips and images live from India and is currently sharing her thoughts and learnings from the experience on the blog. Read the first installment here.

Watch this space for further opportunities to follow in Jenna’s footsteps.

Thanks to all who have been involved so far. Good luck in the £100 Gift Card giveaway! Leave your comment below by the 26th April 2012 to be in with the chance of winning.

This contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone who took part – your comments are much appreciated.

Update 27th April: Congratulations to Natalie Moore whose name was drawn at random as the winner of the £100 Gift Card. Thanks once again to all who took part – your feedback is invaluable and we will endeavour to take it all on board for posts and developments in the future.
