Simon Reeve answers your travel questions

July 9, 2012 by Lauren Rayner

He’s been surrounded by a pack of hungry cheetahs, walked through minefields, survived malaria and pursued by a gigantic ‘amorous’ camel, and on Friday he answered your questions, fired at him over Twitter at a rate of knots.

Simon Reeve, Indian Ocean presenter and all round adventurer, joined us for a Twitterview. Many of you jumped in with questions for Simon, who’s travelled to more than 110 countries and got himself into some rather hairy situations involving head-hunters, mercenaries, warfare and spies (“but we go looking for trouble, because we’re a telly crew,” he assures us).

We had so many questions throughout the hour that we couldn’t possibly feature them all, but Simon was kind enough to stay online and made sure he responded to each and every one of you. That’s just the kind of person he is.

If you missed it, here are some of the highlights…

But the Maldives got a special mention…
