Photograph Morocco with an Intrepid Tour: The Finalists

June 27, 2012 by Flight Centre UK

Last month we launched a photography competition, asking you to send us a photo from your last adventurous trip to win a 15 day adventure tour of Morocco with Intrepid Travel.

We received so many great entries from destinations all over the world, capturing your encounters with everything from people and animals, to lakes and mountains.

After careful consideration, we narrowed it down to a shortlist of entries including six finalists up and one winner (not revealed here…). Each of the shortlisted entries displayed both photographic flair and the essence of adventure, against some truly dramatic settings!

Because the calibre of images was so great, we wanted to share with you six of the images that came close to taking the prize. Stay tuned to the blog tomorrow, where we’ll reveal the winning image!

Image by Anna Marriage. Anna says: “This was taken on my last adventure. Flying in a light aircraft with a friend, looking down over Cambridgeshire with another friend flying the Harvard by our sides – it was just a magical experience.”

We love the sunlight bursting through the layer of cloud, and how fragile the little plane looks against the vast Cambridgeshire plains. It looks like a thrilling adventure!

Ian Gibbons sent in this shot of “hard core Explorers”, taken in Puerto Sabang, Philippines.

We love the playful colour of this shot – and it looks as if the passengers waiting inside the Jeep are about to have the trip of their lives…

Daniel Miles took this picture of a shipwreck at Cape Agulhas, South Africa.

The ship looks as if it was just deserted yesterday, and the glare of sunlight against the water gives the sea an unforgiving aura.

Vivid deep sea light and a burst of yellow fish light up this shot by John Langford. We love how the scuba diver is framed through a jagged break in the rock.

Taken by Kelly Nichols in Krabbi, Thailand. A row of boats tied up peacefully on the shore, as if resting before tomorrow’s adventure.

Melissa Butler snapped this dramatic shot of the Everest Base Camp sign, approaching the south side of Base Camp. She says: “One of the best adventure trips I have completed; the people were amazing, the scenery was beautiful and my tour group were a bunch of laughs.”

Everything in this image signifies that an epic adventure is about to begin. And the cloud tumbling over the mountains in the background gives an indication of the sheer height of the place… brilliant!

Stay tuned tomorrow, when we’ll reveal the winning shot and who’ll get the opportunity to photograph the wonders of Morocco on a 15 day adventure tour with Intrepid Travel.
