Each week we feature a fantastic deal to a destination we think you’ll love. Now we’re letting you choose where that destination should be.
We’re a little bit excited about the options for the next Deal of the Week, with two fantastic winter sun destinations and two city breaks to choose from. So, do you fancy catching up on some long lost sun in Dubai or Cyprus, or exploring Oslo or Amsterdam in the festive season?
Head on over to Facebook to vote. Whichever destination has the most votes on Monday 5 November at 9am will become the next Deal of the Week, which means we’ll source a great deal to go live on Thursday next week. So, which will you choose?
Option 1: Cyprus
The charms of Cyprus are many. For a start, it’s sunny most of the year, and the encircling sea is clear, blue and enticing. Sometimes, that’s all you need from a holiday, but there’s so much more packed into this tiny island in the eastern Mediterranean. The land is riddled with the relics of ancient history, from the beehive huts of primitive man to classical Greek and Roman ruins. Romantically known as ‘the island of Aphrodite’ it’s just as perfect for a holiday with friends as it is for a couple’s retreat.
Option 2: Amsterdam
Ah, lively, lascivious Amsterdam. This city wears two faces: on one, it smiles and beckons hedonistic youth with its notorious Red Light District and liberal view on marijuana use, while on the other it offers discerning travellers some of Europe’s finest museums and art galleries. The historic city centre is ringed by quaint canals and cobbled streets thronged with bicycles, tourists, houseboats, students and street performers.
Option 3: Oslo
Legends of heroes, trolls and princesses roaming the countryside outside this charming city attract many travellers looking for a Scandinavian holiday. Oslo is an eclectic mix of old medieval buildings, churches and modern architecture, sitting among the green trees and extending forests that form the natural balance of nature and civilization. The city centre is filled with restaurants, bars, cafes, clubs and theatres and has a very cosmopolitan feel to it with street artists milling around the main street, Karl Johans Gate.
Option 4: Dubai
Dubai is ever-changing. Its skyline is constantly being upgraded with new developments, including world-class hotels and shopping plazas. Dubai Creek divides the city centre into two parts: Deira on the northern side and Bur Dubai on the south; each has its fair share of souks, restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and fine mosques. Visitors can experience exotic Arabia in the bustling souks or a night in a Bedouin tent with belly-dancing under the starlit desert skies, as well as a way of life that is still embedded in the Islamic traditions of an ancient land.
While you’re here, why not take a look at this week’s deal of the week, 3 nights in the eternal city of Rome, just £199 including airfare.
