Big Outback Adventure with Kiss 100

May 1, 2012 by Jayne Gorman

Last year we ran a contest with Kiss 100, the Northern Territory and Qantas to find 5 winners and their lucky friends to send on a Big Outback Adventure in Australia. Now the day of departure for the contest winners is almost here and we’re all going with them!

We shall be following their adventures in the Outback and reporting back to you live on facebook and twitter. On the 6th May we will be flying with Qantas to Darwin where appointments with a Wave Pool, Harbour Cruise, Crocosaurus Cove and a Deckchair Cinema await us. After that we shall be in the capable hands of Intrepid Travel who will be taking us to Kakadu – Australia’s largest National Park (roughly the size of Wales!)

From there we hop on the short flight from Darwin to Alice Springs and will be following our Intrepid Travel tour leader deep into the heart of the Red Centre. We’ll be getting up close and personal with Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the Kings Canyon and hope to bring you back some impressive photos like these by Flight Centre’s Ed Stalley.

We also need your help as we’ll have some spare time in Alice Springs. Should we visit the Desert Park, Royal Flying Doctors or School of the Air? Perhaps we should check out the National Pioneer Women’s Hall of Fame and Todd Mall like guest blogger Vicky did? Leave your thoughts below and we’ll let you know how we get on!

Keep up to date with the group’s adventure on facebook and via twitter – look out for the hashtag #BIGOBADV for everyone’s thoughts on the experience. Plus Charlie from the Kiss 100 Breakfast Show is also coming along for the ride and will be broadcasting live from the Outback on her radio show – listen out for the updates.

After exploring Alice the group will fly back to Darwin for one last night out and we’ll get to see Charlie in action on the decks as she deejay’s for us. Once back home we’ll be bringing you full updates on the Big Outback Adventure via this blog. But for now we are off to pack; sunscreen, hat, bug spray, dry shampoo….
