Tipping

A standard restaurant tip is 15%; if you truly enjoyed your meal and had no complaints, 20% is more appropriate. If you use the services of the concierge, a tip of $5 to $10 is appropriate, with an additional gratuity for special services or favors. Always keep a few dollar bills on hand—they'll come in handy for tipping bellhops, doormen, and valet parking attendants, and for rewarding the many fine street musicians that entertain day and night. As always, use your discretion when tipping.
