There are banks and ATMs all over the city. There are moneychangers in the Fort area offering cash-only rates that are a little higher than you'll get from a bank. They generally don't charge commission, but some are unlicensed so be wary about attempted rip-offs. ATMs are safer and more reliable, but often issue Rs 500 and Rs 1000 bills only. You should try to break these in a bank, as small vendors don't accept notes that large. Credit cards are generally only accepted at some mid-range and most top-end hotels and restaurants.
