Discover the beauty of Canada

For those keen on the outdoors there is no better destination than Canada. Its beauty is legendary and with its wide open spaces, lush forests, turquoise lakes and spectacular mountain ranges you will be captivated. The natural beauty of the countryside also extends to its cities, which are relaxed, diverse and friendly with the emphasis on the outdoor lifestyle. More than 31 percent of Canadians speak French and French culture is very evident especially in the province of Quebec. Adrenalin junkies will love Canada as there are plenty of sporting activities to take part in from skiing and snowboarding in the winter months to white water rafting, mountain biking and rock climbing.

We have more than 100 stores in Canada and you can rely on the expertise of our consultants to recommend the best holiday experience for you whether this is skiing in the sophisticated alpine resort of Whistler or taking one of the world’s great rail journeys through the Rockies. One of the greatest ways to discover this vast outdoor playground is to take a fly-drive holiday or a city break to Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec.

Top 5 places to Visit

Toronto

TorontoSituated on the shores of Lake Ontario, Toronto is Canada's largest city and offers visitors many delights including shopping that rivals New York, the famous CN Tower, charming old streets plus museums, a pretty harbour and easy access to the awesome Niagara Falls.

Beyond Toronto

Niagara Falls is Canada's most famous natural landmark. It can be reached easily on a day trip from Toronto or there are plenty of options for staying close to the Falls and exploring for a few days.

Quebec

Quebec is a small pocket of French culture in North America where people speak French and the architecture, cuisine and lifestyle is a mix of Canadian and French. The historic capital is the UNESCO world heritage listed Quebec City, the only walled city in North America.

Montreal is the largest city in Quebec and more European than Canadian in layout with cobbled streets, historic squares and beautiful architecture such as the Notre Dame Basicilica. Also renowned for great shopping with lots of designer boutiques and an underground city with around 33km of shops, cinemas, restaurants and cafes to wander around!

Vancouver

VancouverOne of the most attractive cities you will ever see with its pretty harbour and flanked by the snow-capped Coast Mountains. Vancouver combines its relaxed nature with a vibrant buzz, with great restaurants, bars and shops. Must-do's include taking in the views over the city from Grouse Mountain, a harbour cruise and the unique shopping at Granville Island Market. The famous ski resort of Whistler is only 75 miles away.

Rockies

The Canadian Rockies offer incredible scenery with the astounding peaks of the Cascade Mountains, vast canyons and forests of pine. You can enjoy activities such as white water rafting, hiking, mountain biking or horse riding. The resorts of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper are close by.

The Rocky Mountaineer is one of the world’s great rail journeys along the spectacular Rocky Mountain railroad. There are a range of packages from Vancouver to Whistler, Jasper, Banff and Calgary and vice versa.

Canada Wildlife

The vastly untouched wilderness of Canada is home to an abundance of wildlife. The most famous of its residents is the bear and we strongly suggest that you take the opportunity to visit either the grizzly bear, at British Columbia's floating Knight Inlet Lodge or on a classic autumn visit to Churchill on Hudson Bay, to view the magnificent polar bear.

You have ample opportunity to immerse yourself into nature by taking a canoe or sea kayak trip. If you have an interest in fishing there are plenty of excursions offering the chance to catch Salmon, Halibut or even try your hand at sport fishing.

The national parks and wildlife reserves around Quebec are known for their prominent presence of moose and Caribou while also offering breathtaking panoramas. They are perfect destinations providing unforgettable experiences in both summer and winter.

Toronto
TorontoToronto is a vibrant and colourful city perfect for a short shopping break of as a gateway to explore the amazing Great Lakes, Niagara Falls or head up to Algonquin Provincial Park, home to beavers, bears and moose. Just a short boat ride from the city is the real gems of Toronto, its islands. Here you can picnic away from the crowds or hire bikes and explore.

"Make sure you visit the Toronto Islands. They are a short boat ride away and are a great place for a picnic away from the crowds or to sunbathe on the little beach. You can hire bikes and take a leisurely ride, and the views over Toronto are brilliant."

Beyond Toronto
Beyond TorontoNiagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the natural world is an absolute must see, as is the Maid of the Mist boat cruise which takes you up close and personal with the falls. Stay in the beautifully preserved town of Niagara-on-the-lake rather than in the neon lit surrounds of Niagara town, which has an air of Blackpool to it.

"Get up close with the falls by taking the Maid of the Mist cruise that goes right underneath. Be prepared to get very wet though! A drier option is a helicopter ride over the top. Very cool as you get to see all the rainbows created by the water’s mist."

Quebec
QuebecQuebec City, the only walled city in North America is a truly unique place. Granted World Heritage status by UNESCO for its historic architecture, the city exudes charm and has a distinctly European feel. It is the birthplace of French civilization in North America and I don't think you'll find a finer meal than in one of the restaurants littering the cobbled streets around Palace-Royale.

"Definitely include a visit to the Plains of Abraham, along the cliffs overlooking the St Lawrence River. This is a great place to stroll and admire the landscaping and views in what is seen as Canada's equivalent of Central park in New York."

Montreal
MontrealA lively and exciting city, in my opinion it is Canada's answer to New York. Whether it is the 18 miles of underground shops or the quaint, cobbled streets of Old Montreal that entice you here - you will want to come back for more. Montreal is a place full of passion, fun, a love of good food, theatre and entertainment best experienced during its famous jazz and comedy festivals.

"Make sure you visit in July as Montreal hosts the world’s biggest comedy festival, the Festival Juste Pour Rire. It's guaranteed to have you laughing with more than 650 comedians from around the world. Past headliners have included Rowan Atkinson and Jim Carrey."

The RockiesThe majestic Rocky Mountains are the backbone of Western Canada and it is here that the Canadians and international visitors alike come to play.
