There is always something happening and something to do in Thailand, the land of smiles, from Bucks and Stag nights to family holidays.
If you’re looking to relax in Bangkok, it’s a matter of deciding upon how to relax rather than where to go. There is a large choice of spas and retreats around Bangkok with treatments ranging from a short refreshing Thai massage to a full day of complete pampering including massage, body wraps, facials, mud-baths and more. It is the perfect way to escape the constant hustle and bustle of Bangkok.
A must-see place is Bangkok's Chatuchak market. The market contains around 15,000 stalls selling a variety of local wares from souvenirs and handicrafts to luxurious Thai silk, fake designer clothes, jewellery, DVDs, CDs and much more. Since the market is usually frequented by the local Thai population, the prices of the goods on sale are extremely low, even compared with other places throughout Bangkok. Remember, even the original price quoted can be lowered by haggling with the shop’s owner - just don’t be too aggressive with the price.
If you want to escape from the frenetic, pulsating heart of Bangkok then there are plenty of places to visit in that are relatively close to Bangkok. Pattaya is the nearest seaside city and it has a reputation for its hedonistic nightlife. With package deals from Bangkok, and several beaches, it is close enough to for an quick overnight visit or longer if you’d prefer. Discover Kanchanaburi, a place that was written in history as a result of WWII and its famous Bridge over the River Kwai, which cost thousands of lives during its construction.
Bangkok will surprise you with its multiple offerings and leave you wondering why you didn’t stay longer.
