Gap Adventures have developed their own 'Planet Positive Project'. For every trip you book Gap Adventures will plant a tree for you with the aim to plant 1 million trees over the next 18 months in Africa, Asia and South America.
Contiki is a founding contributor to The Leading Travel Companies of the World Conservation Foundation. Through this, over $US1 million per year is given to initiatives to help protect the environment and support local sustainable tourism all across the world.
Radical Travel are the first tour operator in Scotland to receive a Green Tourism Award from Visit Scotland demonstrating a best practice approach to environmental, social, and economic responsibility.
Social Responsibility:
On The Go employs local guides to run their tours, meaning you benefit from inside local knowledge and money is distributed back to the local people.
The Peregrine Community Trust provides funds for local community projects and initiatives that assist in the promotion of sustainable and responsible tourism. The Trust supports projects that help further local education and employment opportunities within the hospitality industry.
The Intrepid Community Project has been running since 2002 and guarantees to match any donation its travellers give. Money is distributed through well known organisations such as Greenpeace, Amnesty International, and WWF along with local charities that work in the areas Intrepid operates.
Acacia work alongside many local charities and community projects to help protect and develop the local area, from anti poaching to education, and from Rhino Sanctuaries to football charities.
