Following the announcement today (Friday 12th March) regarding the British Airways’ strike later this month, Flight Centre, the airfare specialist, is working with the airline to identify and support Flight Centre customers who may be affected by the impending strike action.

Chris Galanty, Group Managing Director, Flight Centre UK said, ‘We are working closely with British Airways and our ground operators to minimise the disruption this will cause to our customers. Customer care and satisfaction is paramount; we recognise there is still a great deal of confusion about what flights will be affected and we have been contacted by a number of our customers who have been trying to assess their options.

It is in situations like these that customers really appreciate the additional service that travel agencies provide. All of our customers are given the direct phone number of their dedicated consultant so we can respond quickly as the details of the strike are confirmed. We will continue to keep our customers informed as events unfold and advise them of the alternative options available.’

Flight Centre believes up to 5000 of its customers could be affected by the proposed strikes and will contact those affected to manage cancellations, refund applications and/or re-bookings. The accommodation team is already working with suppliers to negotiate a reduction or waiver of any cancellation or amendment fees that could be incurred by customers should they need to change their travel arrangements.

Concerned customers are advised to contact their Flight Centre consultant or call 0844 800 8660. For individual store numbers click here
